Altrincham is a great place to live and work – it’s where I’ve chosen to raise my family, in part because of the fantastic schools we have locally. In recent years though, our area has been let down by the Labour Council. We’ve seen pressure on school places locally grow into a crisis. Now some families near me are even having to send their children to school miles away in Stretford or Partington just to find a place. Safety concerns around the Cresta Court hotel being used to house a significant number of male asylum seekers continue to be ignored. And our roads are the worst I’ve ever seen. Yet the Council Tax we pay has gone through the roof, with Trafford Labour having put bills up by an extra £635 since 2019, for a Band D home.
Altrincham deserves better. That’s why I’ve decided to stand up for the area I call home and fight for our schools and for our town to get its fair share.
But I want to know what you think. I want to know what issues across Altrincham matter the most to you and your family. It will only take a minute, but it will help me hold this Labour Council’s feet to the fire over the things that matter to you:
