Trafford Conservatives believe that our town centers play a vital part for the community and the commercial well being of the borough.We will continue to maintain our focus on the long term redevelopment schemes underway in Altrincham, Urmston and Partington. We will work with the private sector to attract investment into our town centres to secure their long term viability.

Trafford Town Hall

Trafford Town Hall is an important building but it does require significant expenditure for it to meet various standards including Disability Discrimination Act requirements and energy efficiency. The scope for a replacement Town Hall that has been presented must be fully explored as a matter of due diligence.

Trafford Conservatives hold the view that any decision taken on Trafford Town Hall must represent best value for the Council. Additionally, a full business case for the options of renovation, refurbishment and redevelopment on the existing Town Hall site be developed. We will ensure that the future uses of the site are in accordance with the wishes of the Council and that the architectural and historical integrity of the original building is maintained.
