26/05/10 - Trafford appoints its youngest ever Executive Member

 

Trafford Council met on 18th May for its Annual General Meeting, where the new mayor is installed and Council is asked to approve all its committee and Executive placements.

Among them was the appointment of Trafford& 39;s youngest councillor and now youngest ever Executive Member, Bowdon& 39;s Cllr Sean Anstee.

Sean was elected to council in 2008, at the age of 20 and now, in a rapid rise up the political ladder, he is to become the Executive Member for Finance at the age of 22.

Sean, who is also a Vice President of the Bank of New York Mellon in Manchester, said afterwards & 39;I am honoured to have been appointed to this role and very grateful that the Leader of Council has put his trust in me to deliver for the residents of Trafford& 39;

Sean lives in Altrincham with his civil partner Thomas, who is a teacher, and in previous roles in Trafford was Chairman of the Community Wellbeing Select Committee, a member of Planning and a member the Overview and Scrutiny Core Committee.
