ONE more of Trafford’s busy and vibrant towns have joined the ‘in bloom’ campaign, and this time it’s in the north of the borough. It’s in Urmston!
On a bright sunday morning around twelve volunteers headed out into Urmston to make a start on tidying the planters and clearing weeds from the edge of roads and pavements. Among the twelve were Stretford and Urmston Conservative Association’s own; Christine and Geoff Turner.
Alongside the other volunteers Christine and Geoff fought back weeds and rejuvenated planters, preparing for the next stage of the in bloom campaign, helping to establish Urmston as a tidy, floral and pretty town.
However, the work is not yet finished, The Urmston in Bloom campaign is ongoing and volunteers to assist are always needed!
We’d like to thank David Mackereth of the Urmston Partnership for organising the inaugural working party of the Urmston in Bloom campaign, and look forward to seeing Urmston in Bloom!
The next working party is being held in conjunction with the Urmston Wombles, meeting outside Cheeky Churubs on Higher Road on Sunday the 13th of August at 10.30am.
